JUNIOR SHOOTING SPORTS
New York State Air Rifle Teams
Marksmanship and gun safety have always been a top issue with the Legionnaires of New York State. The Junior Shooting Sports program provides a structured outlet for youth ages 14 to 21, up to and including high school seniors. They participate in 10-meter air rifle competition in a well-supervised environment.
Each year, the top shooters in the state are given the opportunity to compete in the National Finals held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, where scholarships are awarded to the winners. American Legion youth-rifle teams compete throughout the country for a possible berth in he National Junior Shooting Sports championship at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan.

Middletown Post 151 congratulates our Junior Rifle Shooting Team on earning the #1 rank in the Nation! This was made possible under the steadfast tutelage of Tom Willard, USMC Veteran and Post 151 Member and the dedicated, hard working young men and women of our Junior Rifle Shooting Team! In addition, Bryan Morales ranked as the National Champion and Guadalupe Delarosa ranked 2nd in her age class! GREAT JOB TO THE ENTIRE TEAM! HOO-RAH!
